SAFETY MEASURES

 
a. It is very necessary to keep dangerous and poisonous things out of the reach of small children.
b. One must be careful of items like scissors, knives and blades that are lying around the house. They should preferably be kept at a height where children cannot reach them.
c. Nail-polish remover, gasoline, plastic bags, kerosene and insecticide should be kept out of reach.
d. Parents should not buy toys that have detachable pieces, which are small enough for the child to swallow.
e. Do not leave your child unattended at any given time, not in the bathtub, in the garden or playground or even when he is outside playing with other children.
f. Teach the child not to talk to strangers and not to accept food from strangers. 
g. Children should be wary of stray dogs.
h. As the child grows up, teach him the full residential address and phone number.
i. The child must also be taught how to safely cross roads.
j. If the child is learning how to swim or to ride a bicycle, he must never be left unattended and all the rules must clearly be explained and taught to the child.
